Ella Rogers Brown

October 2, 1946 — July 13, 2017

Ella Lee Brown’s life consisted of loving all she met and giving all she had.

Ella was the seventh of fifteen children, born on October 2, 1946, to Samuel
Rogers Jr. and Eula Ramey Rogers who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Brown; brothers, Bailey L. Rogers, and Thomas W. Rogers; sisters, Shirley G. Rogers, Elizabeth D. Rogers, and Obie L. Sweatt. Ella and her siblings were very close throughout their lives.

Ella was born and raised in Cunningham, Tennessee, and was educated at J. K. Dickson Elementary School and graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, class of 1964. Ella attended Austin Peay State University.

Ella accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, in Cunningham, Tennessee. Later united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. She sung with the Rogers sisters Praise Team.

Ella married the love of her life, James Brown on June 17, 1969. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Victor L. Brown and Crystal D. Bradford. She retired from AT & T after 32 years of service, then worked for Vanderbilt University for 10 years.

Ella loved her family! She loved to be around her grandchildren, hanging out with her sisters, and those special conversations with her brothers. She was a huge Football fan, she attended all the Titans games even after her health declined. Dallas Cowboys were tied with the Titans as her favorite teams. She loved to travel, loved flowers, and cooking.

On July 13, God called his angel home. She leaves to cherish in her memory; son, Victor Brown (Cindy Jo Lunday) of New Smyrna, Florida; daughter, Crystal (Greg) Bradford, of Nashville TN; grandchildren, Tarecca Brown, Baylee Lunday (Arizona), Imani Bradford, Booker Lunday (Arizona), DeShun Bradford, Jordan Bradford, and Ella Dee Brown(New Smyrna); sisters, Bertha Daniels, Maggie Batson, and Penny Rogers of Cunningham Tn, Nancy Reed, and Carol Rogers of Nashville TN; brothers, John(Priscilla) Rogers of Washington DC, Cullumn (Ruby) Rogers, and George (Hazel) Rogers, of Cunningham TN, and Gleason Rogers of Nashville, TN; special nieces, Lucinda “Cookie” Head and Regina Daniels; Special daughters, Andrea Johnson, Amie Corder, Sandra Ross, and Netcha Rodriguez; special nephew, Lamar Reed; devoted friends, Karen Martin, Sandy Mason, Camille, and LaRhonda Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and devoted friends.
