Lynette Moriah

September 6, 1945 — March 18, 2015

Lynette Victorine Moriah was born on September 6, 1945 in Guyana, South America and transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015, after an extended illness. She was born to the late Brandon Alexander and Emma Alberta Blair.

Sister Lynette Moriah was baptized at an early age and remained a faithful member of Ramsey Street Church of Christ until her health began to decline. She immensely enjoyed helping others and being a part of " The Room In the Inn Program".

She was also a very loving and caring "Mother", grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, always willing to mentor and help others, especially her extended family and sisters. She had a very special bond with all of her sisters, as she loved them dearly. She also had a great love for children and upon rearing her children, she instilled the love of God, respecting self and others, being strong and doing the right thing, even if you had to stand alone.

Sister Lynette Moriah spent her life taking care of others as a registered nurse in Guyana, South America and in Nashville, Tennessee, for 40 plus years. In her spare time, she also enjoyed growing "Tulips" and traveling, especially back home to Guyana.
Her wisdom, strength, encouraging words, love for God and special touch will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

Sister Lynette Moriah was preceded in death by her sister, Joylene Burnett.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Jason (Tiffany) Joseph, Justin Joseph, Peabo McAlmont and Quiana McAlmont ; sisters, Verna Rutherford, Enid Morris, Pansy Chesney, Joan Noble, Estel Robertson, Neabert Mansfield, Cheryl McAlmont, Orma Brusch, Hyacinth Willabus, Elsa Cambridge; grandchildren, Jason Joseph, Jr. and Parker McAlmont; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
