Thomas Michael O'Brien

Thomas Michael O'Brien, age 67 passed away March 31, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his father Philip J O'Brien III of Nashville, grandparents Mr & Mrs Philip J O'Brien Jr of Nashville, and Mr & Mrs C.B. Smith of Boca Raton FL.
Survived by his mother, Marion S O'Brien of Nashville TN, wife, Darlene Adams O'Brien of LaVergne TN; daughter, Kimberly (Mike) Johnston; grandchildren Nathan & Erin of Murfreesboro TN; daughter, Melissa (Tony) Lackey; grandchildren, Justin O'Brien & Lauren Lackey of LaVergne TN, siblings, Kathy (Bob) Mahoney of Mandeville LA., Dennis (Kay) O'Brien of Cookeville TN., Claire (Jeff) Barnes of Nashville TN., Philip (Paula) O'Brien IV of Mt Juliet TN., and Elizabeth (Gus) Guy of Burns TN.
Tom attended Father Ryan High School and graduated in 1967. He then attended the University of Tennessee and graduated in 1971.
Tom was very proud of his Irish heritage, and helped plan a family once in a lifetime trip for 29 family members to Ireland in 1996. He faithfully attended Church of the Assumption in Nashville for many years as his health allowed. Tom had a big heart that included not only family and friends but also several cats that brought him much love, comfort and companionship. The ashes of his beloved Renegade and Socks will remain by his side.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4th at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike from 5-7pm with a Rosary and prayer ceremony beginning at 7pm.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 1pm in Calvary Cemetery, 1001 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210.
