Zeanell Glimps

Age 85, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Friday, December 1, 2017.

On December 1, 2017, our beloved mother and grandmother surrounded by her devoted family entered into a peaceful rest. Although our hearts were overcome with sorrow, and we knew that we would miss her dearly with tears of sadness, we knew that we had to let her go. Through it all she was a trooper showing concern for others, and wanting the best for those she loved. Her strength was remarkable, and her love unfathomable. Our lives have truly been enriched by her and though we’ll miss her terribly, and will long for her with deepest grief, we are reminded that love is more powerful than death and this knowledge will give us comfort and peace.

Our dear mother and grandmother, Zeanell Glimps was born to the late Lucyphine Leslie on November 19, 1932 in Nashville, TN.

Zeanell was educated in the public schools of Davidson County. She met her future husband, Robert Glimps Sr., at a high school dance. They were united in holy matrimony in 1954, and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Glimps Jr., and her sister, Ozell Mitchell.

Some of her hobbies included cooking, watching soap operas (especially Young & The Restless), gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
She was a loving and caring mother not only to her own family but served as a governess to the Thompson Family since 1981.

She leaves to cherish her memory a host of devoted family members. Children, Robin(Larry)Rowan, Maurice(Vanail) Glimps, Darrell Glimps, Terri Woods, Pamela Glimps, Reginald Glimps, Sandra(Timothy) Bradford, and Karen Glimps; Daughter in-law, Nises Glimps; Grandchildren, Nesheryl Williamson, Tony(Juanita)Shaw, Daneshia Glimps, Brian Hobbs, Erika(James) Winton, Timothy(Chundra)Bradford, Ricky Williams, Shawn Howell, Brandon Glimps, Ashley Howell, Tevin Woods, Gabriel Glimps, Hayley(Heath)Ratliff, Timia Bradford, and Timaera Bradford; Great-grandchildren, Joshua Webb, Christian Grizzard, Mackenzie Winton, Tasanee Shaw, Tyah Shaw, Brandon Glimps Jr., Kameron Beasley, Kelsei Wilson, Courtlynn Wilson, Kennedi Bradford, London Bradford, Kylan Williams, Tandarius Williams, Rian Hobbs-Manier, Briana Hobbs-Manier, Brian Edwards Hobbs-Manier, and Brian Lenzie Hobbs; Siblings, Warner(Carolyn) Leslie and Roylean Lawrence.

She also leaves to cherish her memory the Thompson Family, Dewitt Thompson IV (Jackie), Dewitt Thompson V (Jamee), Mary Britton Cummings (Jody), John Thompson (Margaret), Jacqueline Towery (McClain), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
