Barbara Lynette Malone was born to the late Bettie Joe (Horton) Malone and father the late Lois Malone on February 19, 1967 in Nashville, TN. Her sister Angela Marie Burrows preceded her in death.

Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age and was baptized at First Street Missionary Baptist Church located in Nashville, TN where she attended services until early adulthood.

She graduated from Whites Creek High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree in Nursing from Tennessee State University, both institutions located in Nashville, TN.

Immediately out of college, Barbara worked at Meharry Hospital in their Labor & Delivery/Nursery department and later was employed by Skyline Medical Center where she served as a Charge Nurse until her health began to fail. She served at Skyline for approximately 25 years.

Barbara loved international travel visiting places like Dubai, England, Paris, Hawaii, and even traveling the mid-west by train with her sister Delores Ann. She loved cooking, especially baking. The family relied on Barbara to bring the desserts to family gatherings where she wowed the family with 8-layer cakes and many other fancy desserts.

Barbara was a very caring and generous person; often helping whenever and wherever she saw a need. She loved her nieces and nephews and they always excitedly anticipated receiving a gift from one aunt (Barbara) at certain holidays. Even her siblings eagerly anticipated receiving an Easter baskets from Barbara.
