Barbara Jean Roberson

July 22, 1959 — July 13, 2018

Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Roberson was born on July 22, 1959 in St Louis Missouri to the late Willie Mae Robinson and Buddy Byrd, and immediately embraced with love by James and Venora Strong. She was preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Roberson Jr. On July, 13, 2018 the Lord our Savior called his angel, Barbara Jean home.
At an early age, Barbara Jean assumed her role as a God-fearing woman. She also embraced the love from Pastor Johnnie Grimes and the New Metropolitan Christian Missionary Baptist Church family.

Barbara Jean was educated in the St. Louis City public school system. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and spearheaded the startup of Keesee Family Care Home for the Aged, which was one of the first Black-owned nursing facilities in TN. She also spent over a decade being of service to others at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, singing, and being a grandmother. She is known for her selfless acts of kindness. She never allowed anyone to remain in need. Barbara always knew what to say to make everyone smile. Her works are forever emblazoned in the minds and hearts of everyone who had an encounter with the, Barbara Jean.

Loving memories will forever live in the hearts of her children, Tymasha Strong, Tamara Robinson, and Tiffany Robinson; sisters, Lola Rucker, Lula Mae Henderson, Bernice Robinson, and Lonnie Minor (St. Louis, Missouri); devoted grandchildren, Nathaniel “Lil Man” Robinson and Noah Dorris; devoted mother-in-law, Elaine Peebles; father-in-law, Nathaniel Roberson Sr; brothers-in-law, Clinton “Bae-Bruh” Roberson and Melvin (Felicia) Roberson; sisters-in-law, Nanassa R. Toles and Kimberely R. Kelley; devoted friend, Ronnette Marshall and a host of nieces, nephews & cousins, family and friends.
