Donzaleigh Regina Dowell-Mccord

September 14, 1952 — September 14, 2022

Donzaleigh Regina Dowell-McCord, 70, earthly journey ended on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her final days and gave her peace.
Regina was a woman of many accomplishments. She was a natural born leader, businesswomen, and provider. Even with her innumerable accolades, Regina was most proud to be called a mom, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, devoted niece, and friend to many.

A native of Nashville, Regina was born on September 14, 1952, as the eldest child of the late Marian Adelaide (Dowell) Ewing and Donald Eugene Watson. Regina gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a dedicated member of Jackson Street Church of Christ.

Regina traveled the world and one of her most proud and memorable moments was when she visited Buckingham Palace in London, England. She often talked about how she felt at home because she was a queen. A “Queen” is a female leader and Regina exemplified this definition. Regina’s path to becoming queen began in those early years in Nashville, TN as a 1970 graduate from Central High School. Central High School was the first integrated high school in Nashville, TN and Regina’s graduating class was the second integrated class to graduate. From there she continued her studies at Middle Tennessee State University and The University of Arizona Global Campus.

Regina worked as a customer service representative at Bridgestone-Firestone Tires for 25 years winning numerous awards for outstanding customer service. After retiring in 2014, she then went on to serve as the Customer Service Manager at BKT-Tires for 8 years.

Regina was blessed with a large and loving family which she cherished. She took tremendous pride in organizing Dowell family events and ensuring the family bond stayed strong. Regina often talked about the importance of family and her actions spoke louder than words. During her last days, she wanted nothing more than to be surrounded by family having fun, telling stories, and enjoying life.

Regina was preceded in death by her heart and only grandson Shamar Jontae Davis. Her parents Marian Adelaide (Dowell) Ewing and Donald Eugene Watson; brother, William Zachary Ewing Jr.; sister, Vicky Jean Stokes also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory is her pride and joy, her only daughter Shara Janii (Turner) Patterson, Nashville, TN. Her beautiful and devoted granddaughters Sharae Monique (Jefferson) Swindell (Frankie Swindell Jr.), Clarksville, TN and Shanice Janii Jenkins, Clarksville, TN. Her two great grandsons and her great-granddaughter, Frankie Swindell III, Shamari Ty Swindell, and Harper Noel Swindell, who she loved dearly and spoiled rotten. Her two brothers Daryle Rycardo Dowell Sr., Antioch, TN, and Tyrone (Carolyn) Ewing Sr., Antioch, TN who will truly miss all her cooking and guidance. Her sister Joan (Watson) McGoy, Maryland, DC. Her devoted friends who were by her side to the end, Janice Smith, Renee (Michael) Howard, Patsy (Michael) Hudgens, Deborah Tibbs, and Milton Jordan. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish her memory.

Her family, coworkers, and many friends will grieve her loss hard only because she loved hard.
Regina blessed the world with her style and grace and will be remembered by the impact she made on so many lives.
