Edward Wayne Matlock (Jake)

Edward Wayne Matlock was born January 12, 1950 to the union of George Sr. and Agnes Matlock. God in his infinite wisdom and mercy called him from labor to reward May 29, 2018. Edward affectionately known by all that knew and loved him as “Jake”.

He was educated and graduated from Haynes High School. Jake professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He joined and served for a short time in the U. S. Marine Corp. On August 4, 1998 Jake was joined in holy matrimony to Patricia Caruthers. If there is one thing to be known about Jake, He loved his family.”

Jake was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Agnes Matlock; two brothers, Leslie (Bud) and George Jr. (Chip) and various other family members.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Patricia Matlock; five children, Tiffany, Starr (Antonio Frierson), Tameka, Tremont (Carla), Carlos Santana and Nicholas (Kilwantae); mother-in-law, Jimmie Walton; grandchildren, Trenisha, Chasity, Kei`Ondra, Ke`Ara, Te`Ona, Se`Marion, Mack, A.J., Kiekko, Hendrix, Nya and Londyn; great grandchid, Ky`Aire; sisters, Regina (Carl) Hill and Pam Matlock; sisters-in-law, Lila (Dave) Brown, Tanya and Cathy Walton; brothers-in-law, Henry Walton and Nathan (Diane) Caruthers and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
