Gary Raymard Sweatt

Gary Raynard Sweatt peacefully entered rest on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Gary was the oldest of five children and born December 9, 1952, in Nashville Tennessee, to the late Emerson & Joyce Sweatt. Gary was educated in the Nashville Davidson county school system and graduated with the class of 1970 from Meigs High School. Shortly thereafter, he joined the United States Army where he served from 1972 – 1978. Gary found Christ at an early age and was a Christian by faith. He was united with Born Again Church. Gary deeply loved fishing and visiting with family in Watertown.

Gary was united in Holy Matrimony to his dedicated wife, Audrey Wade, on August 28, 1981. Those left to cherish his memories are children, Vantasia (Terrell) Harper, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jonathon Sweatt, Nashville, TN, Michael (Sarah) Sweatt, Colorado Springs, CO and Adriane Sweatt, Nashville, TN; Siblings, Terry (Alexis) Sweatt, Nashville, TN, Reginald (Cynetra) Sweatt, Nashville, TN, Sharon (Calvin) Owen, Whites Creek, TN, and Jacquelyn Green, Goodlettsville, TN; Aunts, Catherine Benson, Detroit, MI and Sandra Robinson, Watertown, TN; Mother-in-law, Mary A. Wade, Lawrenceburg, TN; Sister-in-law, Laurie Wade, Lawrenceburg, TN; Brother-in-law, Leon (Carol Anne) Wade, Pulaski TN; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Nekita Sweatt Benjamin. Gary loved and adored his family and will be sorely missed.
