Gleason Ramey Rogers

Gleason Ramey Rogers life consisted of being a joy to whomever he was around. He did not meet a stranger and when you were with Gleason you were definitely going to be in a good mood and laughing.
Gleason was the eleventh of fifteen children, born on July 6, 1955, to Samuel Rogers Jr. and Eula Ramey Rogers who preceded him in death along with his brothers Bailey L. Rogers, and Thomas W. Rogers, sisters Shirley G. Rogers, Elizabeth D. Rogers, Obie L. Sweatt, and Ella L. Brown. Gleason and his siblings were very close throughout their lives.
Gleason was born and raised in Cunningham, Tennessee, and was educated at J. K. Dickson Elementary School and graduated from Montgomery Central High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, class of 1973. He attended Nashville State Tech.
Gleason accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, in Cunningham, Tennessee.
Gleason was blessed with three beautiful children, Lamont Rucker, LaShonda Rogers, and Gleason Rogers. He retired from Bell South, then worked for FedEX, United States Postal Service and MTA.
Gleason loved his family! He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, they were his world. He enjoyed teaching and providing wisdom to his children in his own funny way as well as those special conversations with his brothers. He was a huge Football fan, the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite, but he cheered the home team on as well.
On February 18, 2018 God called his angel home. He leaves to cherish in his memory, son, Lamont Rucker (Yolanda) of Nashville, TN; daughter, LaShonda Rogers(Domonique Spears) of Nashville TN, and son, Gleason R. Rogers (Cassietta) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Adriana Perkins, Madison Perkins, Kiara Wildmone, and a host of other grandchildren; step-children, Tara Lowman, Donald Weakley Jr.; sisters, Bertha Daniels, Maggie Batson and Penny Rogers of Cunningham TN, Nancy Reed, and Carol Rogers of Nashville TN.; brothers, John(Priscilla) Rogers of Washington DC, George (Hazel) Rogers and Cullumn (Ruby) Rogers, of Cunningham TN.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and devoted friends.
