Helen Marie Harris

November 6, 1937 — February 8, 2022

Helen Marie Harris was the oldest child born on November 6, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee to Royal Wesley Harris and Edith M. Jefferson.
Helen was educated in the Nashville Public Schools of Davidson County and was a proud graduate of Pearl High School. She continued her education at Tennessee A & I University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and completed some post-graduate work. Helen was an educator in the public school system of the great State of Tennessee and retired after 25 plus years of teaching. After her retirement, Helen worked briefly for BNA Airport, B. A. Pargh and Harris Publishing.
Helen accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church West Nashville under the leadership of Reverend Walter A. Jenkins. Later she united with Immanuel Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend James D. Cook, where she served as Church Secretary, a Willing Worker and sung in the choir. In her later years she united with The Temple Church under Pastor Darrell A. Drumwright, where she was a devoted member of the Young at Heart Ministry. Helen loved God and her family. She enjoyed serving others and was filled with godly wisdom. She had a kind and generous heart and would go out of her way to see that family members were cared for. Helen loved studying the Word of God, reading, cooking, and working in her yard.
Early Tuesday morning, February 8, 2022, God called His child home from labor to reward. Helen is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
