Joyce Ann Norman Lockett

Joyce Norman Lockett, age 68 of Nashville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Monday, May 25, 2015.

Mrs. Joyce Ann Norman Lockett was born July 9, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Hattie Louise Fanning and James Norman. She departed this earthly life on May 25, 2015.

She was educated in Nashville Davidson County Schools and graduated from Cameron High School in 1964. She furthered her education by attending Watkins Institute of Business and her major was Business Education. Joyce retired from Clover Bottom Developmental Center after 35 years of service.

Joyce was joined in Holy matrimony to Eugene Lockett Junior on July 30, 1965. To this union three children were born.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, James Thomas Fanning, Andrew Norman and sister, Janet A. Williams.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters, Rachelle (Rufus) Murray, and Dionne (Ernest) Cobb; son, Eugene Lockett III; step mother, Laura Norman; sisters, Doris (James) Hambrick, Norma Jean (Jerome) Howse, and Sarah (Mike) Johnson; brother, Gary (Penny) Williams; eight grandchildren, DeCory Smith, Kiara Lockett, Branta Lockett, Kazonte Lockett, Eugene Lockett IV, Coya Hayes, Kimora Lockett, and Jayden Lockett; devoted cousin, Terry (Donna) Puckett; special friend, John Gains; and a host of nieces, nephews; devoted caregivers, Brandy Robertson, Renea DeBerry, Helen Dillard, and Barry Weathers, love ones and friends.
