Age 65, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Friday, May 6, 2016.
Malin G. Talley, Jr. was a larger than life person who was very friendly, talkative and full of unconventional advice. Among his love of life, he had a love of cooking and grilling. He was known among his trucking friends as “Dr. Hook” and “Road Dogg”, to his family and close friends he was “Jr.” or “Stu”.
Malin was born in Davidson County on February 14, 1951 to the late Malin G. Talley, Sr. and Alberta Louise Cartwright Talley. He was educated in the Davidson County School System where he graduated from Madison High School in 1969, during this time he also accepted Christ at an early age.
Malin worked for Odoms Tennessee Pride and then continued pursuing other fields of work with Ryder Trucklines/P.I.E. Nationwide, Rogers Group, and Lowes Home Improvement where he retired in 2010 due to illness.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving and devoted wife Phyllis Jean Talley, son: Jason Matthew Talley, (2) sisters; Gina(Michael)Thomas, Lisa Booker (Ft Lauderdale, FL). Brother: Spence(Zetta) Talley. (1) Aunt Nellie(William) Bender. Devoted Cousins: Ernestine Battle, Larry(Veronica) Bender, Lonnie(Cardelia) Bender, Walter(Linda)Bender (North Texas), Jean McCullough, Debbie Cartwright, Fredrick(Sandra) Cartwright, John Michael Cartwright, Eliza Sanchez, and Carl Cartwright. (3) sisters- in -law: Deborah(Samuel) McKeever, Regina George, Veronica(Larry) McClendon. (2) brothers-in-law: Charles(Teresa) Williams, Jesse D. Williams. (3) God-grandchildren: Lee Thomas(LT) Tillman III, Chyna R. Stanton, and Gabriel C. Wendel. Devoted friends include Robert (Bertha) Farley, Tony(Effie) Hancock, Bobby (Vanessa)Hancock, Samuel(Carolyn) Lavender, Larry (Lynn) Sadler, Lee Tillman II, Natasha Searcy, Pastor Kenneth(Gail) Dixon, Elmer(Beverly) Paulsen, Ret. LT. Col. Ellen R. Willis, and Shermicka R. Young. The Johnson, Carney and French Families. Loyal Canine: Lucy Blue Talley. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous family and friends.
