Marion Quinn Jackson

August 14, 1959 — November 11, 2021

Marion Quinn Jackson was born August 14, 1959 in Ionia County, Michigan to the late Marion Jerrie Jackson and Josephine Young Jackson. He was married to the late Tyrell Dunn, and from that union two daughters, LaTasha Jackson-Yarbrough, Shatala Jackson-Cain, and one son Marion Jackson Jr. were born. He departed this life on November 11, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.


Quinn attended Stratford High School in Nashville TN, Class of 1978. After graduating, he attended Tennessee State University where he excelled in the study of Business Administration with concentration in Management. He was initiated into the Zeta Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in November 23, 1981. He later graduated Summa Cum Laude at Bethel University in 2012.


Over the course of his 40-year career in various managerial and leadership roles, he inspired many. He was a 3rd degree Black Belt in Wado-Ryu, a Japanese style of Karate, where he competed nationally and won many trophies. He founded the Quinn Jackson Karate Center where he taught and transformed the lives of people of all ages. He later founded Jackson Lawn Care Service where he took pride in helping people to embrace the beauty of landscaping.


Quinn’s greatest passion was to transform minds by developing the “Warrior Spirit.” Always teaching financial literacy, planning, and goal setting. He was known for his witty sarcasm, his ability to demand respect, and his highly proclaimed credit score of 850. He was the rock of the family and a devoted brother, father, and grandfather.


He was preceded in death by his parents Jerrie and Josephine Jackson, sister Rowena Dowell, nephew Raymond Coleman, niece LaTanya Cotton, great niece Keondra Williams, and survived by three sisters Dorinda Coleman, Princess (Raymond) Coleman, and Linda Dowell; two daughters, LaTasha (Charles) Yarbrough, Shatala (Gary) Cain, one son Marion Quinn Jackson Jr; two granddaughters, Jaylah Vashon Cain, and Savannah Giselle Cain, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.


Visitation Sunday, November 21st from 1pm-1:30pm with the Omega Ceremony-Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc from 1:30pm-1:45pm with funeral to follow at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike. Interment Hills of Calvary Cemetery.
