Mattie B. Glenn, age 88 of Antioch transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, July 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Complete obituary forthcoming.

Ms. Mattie Beatrice Glenn was born on August 2, 1926 in Nashville, TN to the late parents of Spencer and Augusta Bell Glenn. She was the oldest of three children born to this union. She was called home on Saturday morning July 25, 2015 at her residence.

Mattie received her education at Mount Pisgah Elementary School and Haynes High School in Nashville, TN. She accepted Christ at an early age, and remained a Christian by faith.

Mattie moved to Chicago, Illinois and was soon blessed with several loving children, Larry (Mary) Boyd, James (Mary) Davis, Jeanette, Roslyn, Stanley, LaNell, Reginald, and LaTricia (Trish) Glenn. She returned to Nashville and lived here until she was called home on July 25, 2015.

Mattie was employed with the Chicago Public School System as a Teacher’s Aide for several years until her health started to decline. She was a loving, compassionate, and giving person who never met a stranger. Everyone she met could not help but to fall in love with her. Her memory will be forever cherished by her remaining children, James , Roslyn, Reginald, and LaTricia (Trish).

Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer Glenn and Augusta Bell Glenn (Owens), sister, Gladys (Tut) Crite, brother Spencer Jr. Glenn, daughter Jeanette Glenn, sons, Larry Boyd, Stanley and LaNell Glenn, and by her mate of over forty years Mr. Otis Norsworthy.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Roslyn and LaTricia (Trish) Glenn, and sons James Davis, and Reginald Glenn and Hershell L. Woodard; also daughters, Sandra (Johnny) Stovall, Vanessa Norsworthy, Barbette (William) Jefferies; sons, Otis (Helen) Norsworthy Jr., Stephon Norsworthy, and Glover Manson; Loving Granddaughters, Ra’Nisha Spence and Jamesha Moore; Granmat’s Grands, Nicole, Otis, Inez, Wanda, Christie, Johnica, Cassandra, Leticia, Elizabeth, Marcus
