Mitchell Lee King

October 1, 1959 — September 4, 2021

Mitchell Lee King was born on October 1, 1959 to the Late Lillie Dreal King and Mitchell Lee Mitchell was affectionately called Mickey, Uncle Mickey or King made his transition on September 4, 2021.


Mickey was educated in Knox County Public Schools. He graduated from Rule High School “Class of 79”. Upon graduation Mickey served our country in the United States Army. He joined in the Buddy System with his childhood brother and friend James (Fat) Styles.


Mickey was a member of Anointed Life Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory D. Hopkins.


Mickey loved life, he was always the life of the party with his big contagious smile and laugh, which he did often. He loved his family and friends deeply. He had a huge heart and was very kind.


His grandchildren meant the world to him. He kept them often until his health begin to fail. Uncle Mickey loved to fish.


In professional sports his favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans and the Warriors.


His favorite color is Red.
His favorite meal was a good plate of chitterlings and Ice Cream (Any Kind).


He was saver, he didn’t like to spend money.
The most admirable quality about King was he never complained NOT ONCE through this journey. Everything was I’m fine, I’m okay.

Rest in heaven Mr. King. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Mickey preceded in death by his son, Jay Preal, King Sr., brothers, Otis Hunt and Maurice King.


Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, La’ Tonya Davis, Asia (Ronnie) Smith, Chasity King, Anna Stacia King; son, Michael Mills; sisters, devoted sisters, Joyce (Ronald) Harris, Regina (Lewis) Pleasant, Yvonne Goins, Latithia Goins, Davina Goins, LaTasha King, and Vickie Mattress; brothers, Larry Hunt, William King, Clyde Mattress, James (Krystal) Styles, and Jeffrey Minor; grandchildren, Kenny Nicholson, III, Ca’Mauri, La’Kauri, Ab’Maurie, La’Baurey Mays, Jay King Jr., Mason Haynes, Jasiere Ellis, Sky Marie, La’Kyra, Ni’Aorie, Chasmine, Ahsia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; devoted nephews, William Goodwin and JaMichael Hawkins; devoted nieces, Melanie Wallace, Maisha Mills Ursery, Jordan Gillinwaters, Jonae Ross, Sunshine Mills, Africa Gillinwaters, Terri Tilder; special friend, Porsha Beene, very devoted brothers, James Styles and Jeffrey Minor.
