Nannie Bell Booker

December 23, 1926 — July 21, 2017

Sister Nannie Bell Booker of Nashville, Tennessee was born in Madison, Alabama on 23rd Day of December 1926 to Oscar Booker and Lou Ella Leslie Booker. She was preceded in death by sisters Hazel Booker, Ethel Burrus and brothers Turner and Charles Booker.

She was educated in Madison, Alabama. Although she did not graduate, she was very articulate and displayed an amazing quest for learning.

Nannie confessed hope in Christ at an early age under Elder Eli Moore, Mt Zion P.B. Church in Madison, Alabama. She later moved to Nashville and united with Mt. Sinai P. B. Church, under the leadership of Elder Washington Greene, while located on 12th Avenue.

Nannie Booker was a faithful member where she sang in the Senior Choir, served as a Sunday School teacher and served as a member of the All Purpose Club. Sister Booker was a loyal, devoted and loving woman of God.

She was always ready to quote a scripture and give words of encouragement and wisdom.
She was employed at Genesco for many years and was a care taker in later years.
She leaves behind a loving brother, Willie Booker, 94 years young; sister, Eliza Pitts Washington, of Madison, Alabama; devoted niece and nephew, Mary and James Doss; other nieces and nephews, Charles (Shirley) Booker, Reverend Harrison (Beverly) Burruss, Bovhey Doss, Jacqueline McKissack and Nina Parham; sister-in-law, Adell Jones; a very special friend, Mr. Reed Trickett; devoted friends, Mrs. Johnnie Turner and Mrs. Antoinette (Elder James Duke) and Jamyla Duke; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
