Ozro Martin Jr.

June 26, 1923 — November 22, 2015

Ozro Martin, Jr., was born in Pulaski, TN to the late Ozro Martin Sr. and the late Elease Martin Gray. He was educated in the public school system and served in the US Army in the 4056th Quartermaster Service Co.
He served on tours in Normandy and Southern France. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars and the World War II Victory Medial. He was honorably discharged at Fort Campbell KY on December 27, 1945. He did a second tour and was discharged August 5, 1947 at Fort Custer, MI. Ozro was united in matrimony to the late Lula Mae Abernathy Martin in 1966.
Before his retirement, he was a rock and brick mason. His work can still be seen in every area of Nashville which is a testament to the job he dearly loved. He loved to play cards and cook and was a very good cook.
Those mourning the life of Mr. Martin include devoted nephew, James (Linda) Love; niece, Shaunelle Love of Cordova, TN; nieces, nephews, great nieces, 12 great great nieces and nephews, 4 great great great nieces and nephews, friends, Dorothy Polk, Mason Brown, Henry Davis, Ernest Lee Ewing, Becky Meagher, Deacon Matthew Sherrill, Percy and Cecil, and a host of other neighbors and friends.

Family visitation will be Friday, November 27, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike.

Interment Nashville National Veterans Cemetery, Madison, TN.
