Rosemary Brown Snyder

January 10, 1932 — December 31, 2014

Mrs. Rosemary (Brown) Snyder “Rosie” died peacefully in her home on December 31st 2014 in Nashville, TN. at the age of 82.
Rosie is survived by her husband, Charles W. Snyder Sr; children: Charles Snyder Jr. (Stacy), Regina Trainor (Raymond), Tony Snyder (Jeanie), Steve Snyder, Becky Hickman (Greg), and Danny Snyder (Karen); sister Teresa Werrbach (Otto). Grandchildren: Gaia Robilio (Lily), Anna Robilio, Alex Robilio, Daniel Snyder II, Kendall Snyder, Chase Snyder, and Andrew Snyder.
Rosie was born on January 10th 1932 in Nashville TN. to Alfred & Della Brown. She was the youngest of 6 children: Chucky Brown, Hoerter Brown, Buster Brown, Camille Brown, and Tia (Brown) Werrbach. This 1949 St. Cecilia Academy graduate met her husband, Chuck, on a blind date. Her beauty, charm, kindness, and optimism sealed the deal, and they were married September 19th 1953.
Being a military wife, Rosie and Chuck moved a few times early in their marriage but settled in for over 50 years at their current home on Bellshire Drive in Nashville. Rosie worked at the Quality Inn and then the Hilton Inn at the airport for 19 years as the bookkeeper.
Rosie will be remembered mostly for the love she gave freely to anyone and everyone. She out talked everyone, and was always the last one to leave any event. She was a social butterfly. She kept her family and friends laughing mostly because of her blunt honesty. Her children will never forget the way she handled things with kindness and understanding. The running joke in the family was that mom never spanked any of us. I can hear now, “I never spanked any of y’all, well maybe Gina once”.
I think it can be said that if you met Rosie, you felt her love. She hugged anyone willing to be hugged. That love was definitely reciprocated! All six kids can tell you how our friends would constantly say “I love your mom.” or “I sure do love Rosie”.
The Brown family gatherings on Easter and Christmas were a tradition that Rosie held very closely, again being there for them anytime someone needed her. Faith and her Family were most important, and everyone was family to Rosie. She will be sorely missed by all, however her love will shine on in all of us.
A visitation is scheduled for Sunday afternoon January 4th 2014 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 1227 7th Avenue N. in Nashville TN.
