Sarah Mae Frierson

May 30, 1931 — July 17, 2018

Mother Sarah Mae Frierson was born May 30, 1931, to
the late Mary and Sam Mckissack. She
departed this earth on July 17, 2018.
She united in holy matrimony to William E. Frierson
in 1980. They were happily married until his
health declined in 2009. She declared her faith in
Christ in 1976 under the leadership of the late
Bishop Louis Ward at Church of Jesus Christ and was
installed as a Mother of the church under
Bishop Jerry Morton at Church of Jesus Christ Templ
e and ended her Christian journey under
the leadership of Bishop Napoleon Ward at Faith Apo
stolic Church. Mother Frierson was a
faithful member until her health declined.
Preceded in death by Daughter, Josephine Sawyers an
d Husband William E. Frierson.
Sarah Mae Frierson was affectionately known as “Mae
Mae”. She was known for her
fashionable dresses each and every Sunday and the o
nly lady that didn’t eat chicken.
She leaves to mourn her passing, four devoted daugh
ters Zuelene Cunningham, Teresa (Ervin)
Presley, Sherry Mckissack, and Dorothy Gordon and A
devoted Son William (Gloria) Wigfall.
Sisters Ruby Wright, Samella (Emmett) Hall; Brother
s: Joseph Mckissack, Thomas
(Jesse)Mckissack, Eugene Mckissack Sr., John Robert
Mckissack, and J.W. Mckissack; and a host
of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great -gr
eat grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,
and other relatives and friends.
