Celebration of Life
“I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race. I have kept the faith”, II Tim 4;7

Stephanie Renee Bond Peoples was born January 25, 1965 to her parents, the late John Frank and Beatrice Hafford-Bond in Brownsville TN. She was called from earthly labor to heavenly reward at her home on November 18, 2021 with loved ones by her side. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Johnnie V. and Fannie Bond; sisters Vonzetta Carney and Barbara Jean Perry; brothers Rodney Bond and William Jones; nephew Dwight Bond Jr; great niece Alexis Tyus; special relative Lady Frank Shaw; close friend Susan Wright.

Stephanie was the youngest daughter of 14 combined children in this family. She had a childhood filled with love, support and carefree days growing up in Brownsville TN. She suffered the loss of her mother at the age of 10 years old. She was nurtured, loved, and raised jointly by her father, beloved grandparents, and siblings. Since she was the youngest daughter of the family, attention was constantly bestowed upon her.

Stephanie was educated in the Haywood County School system, and was a proud member of the Class of 1983, where she was well liked by her peers. After becoming a young mother, her adventurous spirit took her to her present home in Nashville TN. The move to Nashville afforded her greater opportunity for employment and to be closer to family and friends. She enjoyed 20 years as an employee of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During her time at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, she was a consummate conscientious employee. She was highly respected and valued by all her colleagues who interacted with her. She was always known for her willingness to share wise counsel, a good laugh and support to friends and family in need.

As a dutiful wife and mother, she loved cooking, decorating, and supporting her sons in their chosen endeavors. She was also known to enjoy live entertainment including concerts, comic shows and various theatrical performances. Her home was always open for entertaining family and friends. The most important entertainment for Stephanie was spending time with her family and many friends celebrating holidays and birthdays throughout the years. Family is and has always been important to Stephanie.

Her spiritual life and development were equally important to her. She began her Christian walk at an early age when she heeded Christ’s call and was baptized into Christ at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the choir. Later she became a beloved faithful member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church (OHB location) of Nashville TN. She devoted her efforts of service in the women’s ministry and other projects as needed without hesitation. She was courageous, outspoken, humorous, and always willing to serve those in need. She will be truly missed.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: sons, LeErnest (Courtney) Evans and Michael Peoples Jr. of Nashville TN; siblings, Debra Neal of Jackson TN; Sheila Hall of Nashville TN; Charlotte Nicholson of Antioch TN; Holly(Geno) Yancy of Collierville TN; Freddie (Wilma) Burnette of Bells TN; Johnnie Bond of Austin TX; Joseph (Elaine) Bond Sr. and Dwight Bond Sr. of Nashville TN; devoted brother Minister Michael Bond of Brentwood TN; step grandson Jacquan Newsom II; devoted companion, Aaron Hawkins; special friends, Ramona Crawford, Sherryl Hines, William McClung; goddaughter Lakyshia McClung; special aunt Maxine McDowell, uncle John Hafford and aunt Bobbie Baugh; many nieces and nephews, a host of cousins; several great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He said to her “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free from your suffering” Mark 5:34
