Virginia Pauline Gentry

August 2, 1953 — October 27, 2021

The phenomenal Beautiful Life of Virginia Pauline Gentry ended peacefully on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. Virginia was born August 2, 1953 in Nashville, TN the 4th of eight children born to the late Bernice Ray Kelly and Sis Christine Kelly (McClain). Virginia was educated in Nashville Davidson County Public Schools. Virginia was employed by J.B. Knowes Home for senior citizens, where she later retired in 1987. Virginia was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie Gentry.


Virginia was a loving nurturing, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Virginia loved the Lord and has been a faithful member of the New Metropolitan C.M.B Church under the full leadership of pastor Johnny Grimes. She dedicated her time by serving as a minister, soloist, choir member, praise team, and community outreach member. Virginia found great joy and comfort in singing, serving, crafting, and drawing as well as donating and giving back to the community.


Virginia is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and son Thomas Trotter Jr, sister, Barbara Russell, sister Dorothy Wiggins, and brother Tommie Kelly.


Her memories will always be cherished by her loving children and family tree, whom will always honor her memory, devoted daughter’s Stacey (Darius) Trotter McGee, and Abigail Trotter, and seven grandchildren, Zacharian (Stephanie) Trotter Sr., Jamaal Trotter, Joshua McGee, Timera Johnson, Zaharia McGee, Diamond Trotter, and Makayeli Trotter. Virginia had seven great-grandchildren; Keala Jones, Kaleb Greer, Troy Trotter, Kayden McGee, Zacharian Trotter Jr., Kailani Trotter.


Virginia is survived by sisters, Eva Jo (Ronnie) Malone, Ada (Larry) Downy, Belinda (Leon) Greer, and Beatrice Russell. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, step-children and relatives and friends. Devoted friend Grace Waters.
