William Richard Henderson

William Richard Henderson was born on August 23, 1954 in Nashville, Tennessee as the fourth child of the late William and Billie Jean Henderson. He was reared and educated in Nashville, where he attended public school. He gained the skills that he would be noted for as he attended and graduated from Nashville State Technical College and Nashville Auto Diesel School (now known as Lincoln College of Technology). Richard also earned a certificate in welding and worked as an auto mechanic and an electrician.
Ricky, as he was fondly referred to by his family, joined the United States Army shortly after high school and later received an honorable discharge. He returned home to continue his training and experience and found a great demand for his talents. There was not a gadget that he could not fix, from cars to any household item. Not only was he able to, but he always was willing to be of help to others.
He lived in the Atlanta, Georgia area in more recent years. Ricky is survived by his son Xtaveion Douglas, devoted companion Linda Bradley, his siblings, Charles (Eva) Henderson, Pamela Henderson, Patricia (Charles) Chatman, Denise (John) Farmer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was admired for his calm and peaceful nature.
Ricky received Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age and attended Faith is the Victory Church in Nashville before moving to Atlanta. Our hope for our dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend is according to 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
