Harrietta (Starks) Wade was born on May 13, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the only child born to Betty (Starks) Yarbrough and Wiliam Claybrooks whom preceded her in death. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternity on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Harrietta confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by Dr. Frank M. Spence at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the choir and loved to listen to and sing Shirley Caesar’s songs. She later moved her membership to Born Again Church where she served under the leadership of Bishop Horace E. Hockett.
She was educated in Metropolitan Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Pearl High School. Harrietta worked in the food industry most of her life and was known for her smile and how she greeted people.
Harrietta will always be remembered for some of her special sayings, when asked how are you doing, she would reply “Feel like a millionaire, ain’t got but a penny or when someone would walk in the room, she would say, “Hey Love”. Her positive spirit about life will be greatly missed.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her cousins who loved her like a sister and other family and friends.
