Janatyar (Jan) Faye McKinney, age 66 of Smyrna transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Janatyar Faye "Jan" McKinney entered into her eternal life, Monday morning, July 10, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN. Jan was born May 26, 1957 to the late James Quinton and Gladys McKinney in Smithville, MS. Jan was the youngest girl of seven children.

At an early age, Jan accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined St. Paul CME Church, Smithville, MS. As she grew in Christ, she was inspired to take an active part of her church family. The songs she lead with the choir, would penetrate to the heart and soul of each listener. After moving to Nashville, she united with the Worship Center.

Jan, grew up on a farm where her life was free from worries or problems like we face today. May, 1976, she graduated from Smithville High School. After graduation, she became a
Board Certified Cosmetologist and Educator. Her caring personality caused her students to gravitate to her. She not only taught the cosmetology skills, but she helped her students find their way in life. As an encourager, she was always encouraging her students, nieces, nephews, and whomever crossed her path.

Jan also loved her family. She kept the family connected by keeping in touch with all her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends as she informed them what was going on in the family circle.
