Mary Elizabeth Kimble-Adams was born July 17, 1934, to the late Alexander and Queenie Doss in Nashville, Tennessee. She departed this life on March 26, 2024, while surrounded by those she loved.
She began her Christian experience at an early age at Bethlehem United Primitive Baptist Church where she joined and was highly active.
She attended Pearl Elementary, Washington Jr. High, and graduated from Pearl High School, class of 1953. She attended Peabody Educational Early Learning Program; later to become a Metro Nashville Public School Educational Assistant.
Mary was a woman of fashion known for her stylish hats. She was a social butterfly expressing love and care for others. She also enjoyed church activities, social community gatherings, and travelled extensively. Mary was actively engaged in the South Inglewood Baptist Church Usher Board where she expressed a strong love to serve. She participated in the Pearl High Alumni Program, AARP, YMCA (Silver Sneakers), and the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church Progressive Service Organization.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Richard Adams of Nashville, TN., brothers Albert and Preston Doss of Nashville, TN., and son Adonis Kimble of Nashville, TN. Mary was the first of seven children leaving behind James (Mary) Doss of Nashville, TN., Ruby Phillips of Cleveland, OH., Ronald (Elise) Doss of Nashville, TN., and Angela Doss of Nashville, TN. Mary had seven of her own leaving behind her beloved children, Lodovic (Dorann) Kimble of
Fort Myers, FL., Taryn Graves of Atlanta, GA., Antonio Kimble of Nashville, TN., Marissa Campbell of Nashville, TN., Juan Kimble of Nashville, TN. and Aleathia (Ernest) Howell of Gallatin, TN. She also leaves behind 24 `grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a devoted friend Frances Crenshaw and many others who loved her.
