Mary Alice Moore

 Mary Alice Moore, age 75 transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. She leaves a host of devoted family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Mary Alice Moore of Nashville, TN was born March 22, 1948.  She was the fifth of eleven children born from the union of the late Leroy C. and Mable C. Moore. She is preceded in death by her brother, Wayne A. Moore, Sr.

 

Mary Alice was a member of The Temple Church. She attended the Davidson County School System. She was a proud student of Cameron and Central High school. She further her education attending Trevecca University.

 

Mary Alice worked at Lakeshore Homes for 10 years and was loved by patients and co-workers. Because of her love for people, she became an employee with the Metropolitan Transit Authority for 31 years. She was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local, Nashville, TN

 

While at MTA, she formed many lasting friendships. Mary Alice had a love for cooking, and she did it well! She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Mary Alice was very well known in the community for her service and entrepreneurship which included baking and selling her homemade famous rolls and tasty chess pies.

 

Mary Alice was affectionately known by many including; “MeAlice”, “MayreeAlice”, “Mayralice”, Granny and “Mama”. More than anything, Mary Alice was known for being sweet, kind, generous and a woman with a quick wit.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Deron Moore (Patrice), loving devoted daughter, Chaka Moore (Edward); sisters, Patricia Jobe (Eddie), Sandra V. Moore, Lucille Moore-Hall, Donna Moore-Gray (Robert); brothers, Leon Moore (Cynthia), Robert Moore (Gladys), Harold Moore, Ronnie Moore,  Moore, devoteddevoted brother Ernest Moore, Sr, (Pamela). Sister-in law Glenda Moore; grandchildren, Omari Moore, Sr., Quinten Bowden, Olivia Moore, Emmaleigh Moore; great-grandchildren, Omari Moore, Jr., Peyton Moore, Kaiden Atkinson; and host of nieces, loving and devoted niece, De’Shawnda Moore, nephews and special friends; devoted friend, Sherry Campbell, Mary Alice helped raise many other children, in doing so she developed a unique and special relationship with Olivia Ladd.
