Robin Michele Garner Stephens was born February 7, 1960 to the late Lewis and Lettie Rose Garner in Fort Bragg, NC. She departed this life on January 24, 2024.
Robin married William ‘Flea’ Stephens on February 24th 1979 in Shelbyville, TN to this union two boys and one girl were born.
She attended Bedford County Schools, and received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Volunteer State Community College. She retired from the Tennessee State Department of Corrections after 28 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Ollie Jeanne Garner and Robert Clarence Garner and her beloved son David Lewis Stephens.
Robin Michele affectionately known as ‘Coach Robin’ was a safe place and a mother to so many, she loved her family and every person that walked through her door. She never met a stranger or someone she wouldn’t help. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends for a good time and lots of laughs.
She was influential in the community by volunteering to coach youth basketball and softball teams. She was a support system and a listening ear to so many.
Coach Robin leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband William ‘Flea’ Stephens, her devoted children Jeremy Stephens and Demetra Jeane’ (Riley) Howard; five grandchildren, DeMaria Davidson, NarQuan Stephens, Riley ‘Lil 4’ Howard, IV, Davion Stephens, and Jeremy Stephens, Jr.; one great-grandchild Kylon Stephens; niece Breiten (J’Zyiah & Sariah) Jordan and nephew Andraeaus Garner; Loving sister-in-law Demetra ‘Molly’ (Randy) Tillman; Devoted friends Michelle Peacock, Arburdea ‘Frog’ Lyons; Caring cousins Melvin Peacock, Jr., Anita Giles, Joyce Blackwell, Bronda Peacock, Jessica Rippy, Gwendolyn Rippy, Bryce Holton, Angie Albert and Kenitha Jordan-Thomas; and a host of family and friends.
She will be truly missed by so many, and her memory will forever live on in all those that she touched.
