Wayne was born to the late James Edward and Annie Rachel Mooney, Wednesday, March 21, 1951. He departed this life Thursday, August 17, 2023 @ 3:11 A.M.

 

Wayne was baptized Sunday, June 10, 191962,62 at Seay-Hubbard Methodist Church by Reverend Julius C. Johnson.

 

Wayne graduated from Cameron High School in 1969. He served in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He was certified in Sheet Metal. As a professional mover, he travelled all around the United States and other countries moving corporations and families. While working with Music City Movers, he was known as Legend.

 

Wayne enjoyed being around his family, talking a lot of mess and being overprotective. He thought he was the prettiest in the world. In his later years, he stopped cussing. That made him very proud of himself.

 

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his children, Wayne Edward, Jr. (Linda), Roderick Eugene, Kevin Ray (Mackrina) Mooney, Shawanda Renay (Sedric) Crawford, Aleta Renee’ Mooney and Jason (Cambra) Johns; Grandchildren, Wayne Edward, III (Teara) & Jackqueline Mooney, Jamescia Esaw & Andrew Crawford, Micah & Brandon Mooney, Brandon Bell, Jr. & Lyric Mooney, Jason Johns, Jr., Zakayiah Starks & Sinclair Johns, II; Great grandchildren, Tatiyana Mooney, Wayne Edward Mooney, Esq. & Emery Esaw; Siblings, Barbara (Isaac) Manning, Judith Hill & Paulette (Bobby) Russell; Aunt, Beverly Vance; Nephews, Lamonte Manning, Jacques, Jr. (Sherry) Hill, Daryl (Tomica) Hill, Bobby (Sheniki) Russell, Jr. & Shon (Meco) Jones; Nieces, Jacqueline (Rayon) Edwards, Rachel Renee’ Hill, Martha Bondon, Tierra Russell & Denelle West; devoted cousin, Jesse Lowery Mooney, friends, Jackie Mitchell, Brenda Covington, Jeanie Mahlaule, Willie Wynn and Donald Moore; great nephews, great nieces, cousins, other relatives & friends; preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Edward Holmes and son, Sinclair Johns.
